Behavioral Health Services
The Allen County Probate and Juvenile Court’s Behavioral Health Services Department provides screening, assessment, intervention, consultation, and referral services to support the behavioral health needs of youth and families within the community. Court involvement is not required.
Behavioral Health Services are designed to promote early identification of mental health and substance use concerns, connect youth and families with appropriate resources, and improve access to care. Services are primarily provided at the A.C.C.E.S.S. Center and are also available within the Allen County Juvenile Detention Center.
Our Behavioral Health Services team works collaboratively with youth, families, court personnel, schools, healthcare providers, and community agencies to support positive outcomes and strengthen connections to community-based treatment and support services.
Available Services
Behavioral Health Screenings
Behavioral health screenings help identify potential mental health, substance use, emotional, or behavioral concerns that may require additional assessment or intervention.
Behavioral Health Assessments
Behavioral health assessments provide a comprehensive evaluation of an individual’s strengths, needs, and behavioral health concerns. Assessment findings help guide recommendations, referrals, and service planning.
Brief Intervention
Brief intervention services provide short-term support, education, motivational enhancement, and problem-solving strategies to address identified concerns and encourage engagement in treatment and support services when appropriate.
Behavioral Health Consultation
Behavioral health consultation services provide professional guidance and recommendations regarding behavioral health concerns, treatment needs, service planning, and available resources.
Referral to Community-Based Behavioral Health Services
Behavioral Health Services staff assist youth and families in accessing appropriate behavioral health treatment and support services within the community. Referrals are made based on identified needs, and staff may assist with care coordination to promote successful connections to services.
Who May Access Services?
Behavioral Health Services are available to all youth and families within the community. Referrals can be made through community partners or through the youth’s guardian. Walk-ins are welcome Monday-Friday 8:30AM – 12PM and 1PM – 4:30PM.
Commitment to Access
The Allen County Probate and Juvenile Court is committed to ensuring that behavioral health services are accessible to all eligible individuals.
No person will be denied access to behavioral health services due to an inability to pay.
The Court maintains a Sliding Fee Discount Program in accordance with federal requirements though currently, all Behavioral Health Services provided through the Allen County Probate and Juvenile Court are offered at no cost.
